Care |
Cornus prefers a not too dry, nutritious soil with a relatively low pH value (acidity). Cornus does not grow well in very wet conditions. In poorly drained spots it is very important to loosen the soil and sometimes even to install a drainage system. For tips, contact your retailer. For clay, loess and sandy grounds, we recommend to mix fertilized garden mould through the soil. To plant the Cornus, one should dig a hole about 2-3 times the size of the clod. The soil from this hole should be mixed with fertilized garden mould. After planting the Cornus, the soil around it should be compressed, to ensure the plant will root nicely, and plenty of water should be added. Before planting, the Cornus can be placed in a bucket full of water to allow the plant to take in plenty of water.
